How we collect, use and share personal information.

Last updated 9 October 2026.

Property Konnect AU is operated by Property Konnect Au Pty Ltd (ABN 28 701 939 497) (“we”, “us”), which runs propertykonnect.com.au. We handle personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

This policy explains what we collect, why, who sees it, and how you can access, correct or delete it. If you do not want us to handle your information as described, do not use the quote form, contact form or contract review.

What we collect

Comparing professionals. We collect the service, state and suburb you enter.

Requesting a quote. We also collect your name, email, phone number and the details of your enquiry, and the professional you select.

Contact form. We collect your name, email and message. If you are listing a business, we also collect the firm name, service and state.

Contract review. We collect your name, email and phone number, the state and suburb of the property, any notes, and the document you upload (for example a contract of sale or vendor statement). You do not need an account. The document may contain personal information about other people, such as the vendor or agent. Upload it only if you are allowed to.

Account. If you create an account we keep your name, email, phone number and state. Your password is stored by our sign-in provider as a hash. We cannot read it. We use a cookie or similar technology to keep you signed in.

We do not ask for sensitive information such as health information, and we ask you not to include it. If a document contains it, we handle it only to produce the summary you requested.

Why we collect it

We use this information to show state-matched professionals, send your enquiry only to the professional you choose, write and email your document summary, show that summary in your account if you have one, follow up if a summary could not be produced, run and secure the service, and meet legal obligations.

We do not use your document to train public AI models. We do not sell personal information. We do not send marketing unless you ask to hear from us, or the law allows it, and you can opt out.

If you do not provide the details a form asks for, we cannot send the quote, contact message or summary.

How your document is processed

To write the summary we send the text of your document, or images of its pages if it is a scan, to an AI provider outside Australia. We also send the state, suburb and any notes. We do not send your name, email or phone number to that AI provider for this step.

We use OpenAI and Groq, both based in the United States, to write summaries. We use SendGrid (United States) to send email, Supabase to store our data, documents and sign-in details, and Vercel to host the website. These providers may handle data in the United States or other countries. Overseas recipients may not be subject to the APPs. Before we disclose personal information overseas we take reasonable steps to require the recipient to handle it in line with the APPs, and we remain accountable under the Privacy Act if they do not. By uploading a document you consent to this overseas handling for the purpose of producing your summary.

Automated summary

The summary is produced by software. It groups clauses and questions. It does not decide whether you should sign, buy, or instruct a firm, and it is not legal advice. A licensed conveyancer or solicitor in your state must review the original documents.

Who can see it

You can see your own reviews if you have an account. Our team can see submissions so we can run the service and fix failed summaries. We share your name, contact details and enquiry with a professional only when you ask that professional for a quote. We do not give them your uploaded contract unless you ask us to.

We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to investigate misuse of the service.

Security and how long we keep it

We use access controls, encrypted connections and limited staff access. No method of storage is completely secure.

We keep quotes, contact messages, documents and summaries only while we need them to provide the service, handle a complaint, or meet a legal requirement. We aim to delete or de-identify uploaded documents and summaries within 24 months unless you ask us to keep or delete them sooner, or we must retain them by law. We do not keep them indefinitely.

Access, correction and deletion

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account, documents or summaries. Email privacy@propertykonnect.com.au. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity. We may refuse if the law allows, and we will explain why.

Complaints

Contact privacy@propertykonnect.com.au first. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.

Notifiable breaches

If a data breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will assess it and notify affected people and the OAIC as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
